Today is ...

... my very first post on my very first blog.

I've been a fan of blogs for years, posting to various ones as I peruse the Internet in search of a good read. I'm also a sucker for a good message board. Posting makes you feel like a child on Christmas morning, eagerly awaiting to see if someone will reply and what they will say. Perhaps they will stroke your ego with an "I agree with you," or maybe they'll get your blood pumping with a "Your an idot!".

I decided to finally create my own blog not because I have a lot to say or because all the cool kids are doing it, but as a way to let family and friends know what is going on in my and my family's lives. Creating my blog was not as easy nor as fun as I thought it would be. I do graphic design as part of my job responsibilities, but I don't have any Web experience. All I wanted to do was put a flowery header and have the fonts be different sizes. After about an hour I got the header to be the size I wanted it, but no such luck with the font. Apparently, I can't make my blog title large without all the text being similar in size to that of an easy reader book for children.

You may be wondering how I came up with the name for my blog - Much Ado About Alex. It's a play on words of my favorite Shakespeare book, Much Ado About Nothing. Incidentally, this book was made into a movie (directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh) around 1993 and starred actors such as Keanu Reeves, Denzel Washington and Michael Keaton. If you've never seen it, you are truly missing out. It's got drama, comedy and of course what would a Shakespeare book be without love.

I look forward to becoming a little more familiar with being the proud owner of a blog. And contrary to what I said earlier, tonight I did have a lot to say. :)

Welcome to the Blog World. There's a lot of things you can't change with your blog because they are templates and they try and make as simple as possible for people like me :)

Didn't realize you were such a Nicholas Sparks fan and Shakespeare? Man, I learn something new every day.

Congratulations on your blog!!! I saw your link on Lori's page. Don't worry about not getting it set up exactly the way you want it, none of us can. When i was working I worked in web design and I can't even get mine the way I want it because of the template limitations. I would love to put a link to your site from my blog. Let me know if its okay.
